Interactive Units of Sound.

"Sound Units" is a small knowledge level game to sort the units of sound (decibel) by their equivalents. Physics exercise to explore and study the order of sound magnitude and acoustic sound measure scale. Fun educational game, suitable for online lessons and interactive classes. Free online game for physics homework. Online physics educational game. Fun physics puzzle.

This physics class game include the following unit equivalents:
  • Nanobel (nB)
  • 1 Microbel (µB) = 1000 Nanobels (nB)
  • 1 Millibel (mB) = 1000 Microbels (µB)
  • 1 Centibel (cB) = 10 Millibels (mB)
  • 1 Decibel (dB) = 10 Centibels (cB)
  • 1 Bel (B) = 10 Decibels (dB)
  • 1 Decabel (daB) = 10 Bels (B)
  • 1 Hectobel (hB)= 10 Decabels (daB)
  • 1 Kilobel (kB) = 10 Hectobels (hB)
  • 1 Megabel (MB) = 1000 Kilobel (kB)

How to play Sound Units Puzzle.

There are 9 base units of acoustic sound, marked by the multiples sound symbol, situated on the left side of the screen. Drag and drop them in their correct equivalent value in the order of magnitude sound scale to the right of the screen. Arrange all 9 units of sound to win the game. The lowest and highest magnitudes haven't been observed by experiments yet.

Class subject: Sound Unit.

The decibel (symbol: dB) is a relative unit of measurement equal to one tenth of a bel (B). It expresses the ratio of two values of a power or root-power quantity on a logarithmic scale. Two signals whose levels differ by one decibel have a power ratio of 101/10 (approximately 1.26) or root-power ratio of 101/20 (approximately 1.12).

The definition of the decibel originated in the measurement of transmission loss and power in telephony of the early 20th century in the Bell System in the United States. The bel was named in honor of Alexander Graham Bell, but the bel is seldom used. Instead, the decibel is used for a wide variety of measurements in science and engineering, most prominently in acoustics, electronics, and control theory.

This fun physics game may answer the following questions:
  • What is smaller magnitudes of decibel?
  • What is bigger magnitudes of decibel?
  • What is the ascending order of the sound units?
