Here is the map of the world and 20 shovels on the top of the screen. Click on the locations of the map to see how much tonnes of sugar beet that region produce per year. The ammount of the sugar beet production will be added in the bottom counter and one shovel will be lost. The task is to collect 220 million tonnes of sugar beet per year, before you run out of shovels.

In 1747, Andreas Marggraf isolated sugar from beetroots and found them at concentrations of 1.3–1.6%.
