Conditional equations may be boring and confusing, but not so much, when they are represented with our favorite computer game, for this cool math game it is StarCraft 2. Here are the tasks and how to solve them:
There are 10 Siege Tanks, 11 Marines and 1 Widow Mine in this defense line. The Widow Mine's damage is triple the damage of the Siege Tank and the Marines do only 20% of the damage of the Siege Tank. The siege tank does 40 damage. What is the total namber of damage of the defense line? Answer: Damage of Widow Mine 40x3=120. Damage of Marines 20% of 100=5; 40/5=8. Overall (Tanks 10x40) + (Marines 11x8) + Widow Mine 120 = 608.
2 Void Rays are attacking a Refinery. Void Ray make 17 damage per second and the Refinery has 750 hit points and + 1 Armor. For how many seconds the Refinery will fall?
Answer: All Void Rays make 32 damage per second 2x(17-1 from armor). Divide the hit points of the Refinery 750 to 32 to find how many seconds it takes to destroy the Refinery = 23.4 rounded 24.
One Protoss Photon Cannon is completed for 29 seconds. One probe can place one Photon Cannon every 5 seconds. For how many seconds you will have 7 operational Photon Cannons?
Answer: We have to find when the probe will place the last Photon Cannon, which is 5x7=35. 29 seconds after the placement of the last 7 Cannon all 7 will be ready to shoot 35+29=64. So if you have enough minerals you can make a nice cannon rush tactic in just one minute! |
