Class subject: The pyramid of Maslow.

Maslow pyramid is basically a written analyse of happiness. The most fundamental and basic four floors of the pyramid contain what Maslow called "deficiency needs" or "d-needs": esteem, friendship and love, security, and physical needs. If these "deficiency needs" are not met – with the exception of the most fundamental (physiological) need – there may not be a physical indication, but the individual will feel anxious and tense. So as more need we acquire, from the bottom to top, the more calm and happy we get.

Lets try to solve this fun visual example:

1. First red floor - physiological needs. a) Water. If a person do not have a water to drink or even wash and shower, how can he even think about prosperity or job? b) Food. The first job of a forest ranger is to find food and warmth. c) Air. This include air to breath, but it may not appear in other pyramids. d) Warmth. If you have felt cold, you know you can not thing for enything else, beside finding warmth. e) Bead to sleep. Imagine to think for love, without having a simple bead, even from leaves. f) Roof and shelter. Imagine having a family without having a home. g) Disposal. This have become a modern need and may not appear in other pyramids, but have you stumbled in foreign city needing a toilet?

2. Second orange floor - safety needs. So when people have all those things from the first stair, they shoud be fine. But they are actually not. In our fast and cruel social world there are a lot more things to bother our minds. a) Body. This include physical safety. People search for environment with less danger. b) Prosperity. When people are physiologicaly satisfied, they begin to thing for posperity and future, for values and job to increase their well being.

3. Third yellow floor - social needs. It is human behavior to gather and devide in groups where they find a) Love. It is arguable for love to be in teh third stair, as it is possible even the most unfortunate people to feel love. But it is much more accessible when physiological and safety needs are met. b) The need of family and intimacy are speculated to be a physiological need, but again, they are mo accessible as more need from the lower stairs are met. c) Friends. Even the most solitary people need friends. Here we assume, that friends can not be only humans. d) Here is also a fun speculation that Internet should be a need from the "d-needs". When Maslow developed the pyramid, there was no internet and internet may be well a tool for personal enlightenment.

4. Fourth green floor - importance need. It is where the person build his/her esteem and it is a logical outcome from satisfying the basic 3 floors of the pyramid. a) Respect and be respected b) Confidence and self-confidence. Confidence is generally described as a state of being certain either that a hypothesis or prediction is correct or that a chosen course of action is the best or most effective. c) Fame and be famous.

5. The highest fifth floor - self-actualization need. This level of need refers to what a person's full potential is and the realization of that potential. Maslow describes this level as the desire to accomplish everything that one can. Self-actualization include lack of prejudice, creativity and morality.

6. The hidden fun floor - the need to know. This fun floor puts in two needs that are impossible at the moment, but surely are wonderful for a next level of personal achievement and transcendence. This is the answer to Life, Universe and Everything, and the meeting with another sentient life form.
