18 archaeological studies and archaeology branches in a fun online learning game.

The "Archaeology Topics Tree" is a free online knowledge level game, about the subjects of Archaeology Science, fields of study, archaeological sub-disciplines, key topics and concepts. Drag and drop the round pictures in the archaeology topics root. A small game puzzle for desktop computers, laptops and tablets, which may be played in the web browser. The Archaeology Knowledge Board include 18 pictures of archaeology, to play with. Part of the Interactive Treasure Hunting educational tools. It is cumulative with the High School Archaeology Test.

How to play Archaeology Tree.

There are 18 stylized pictures of different acpects of the archaeology, on the top of the screen. Roll over the picture reveal the name of the archeological subject, and a little information about it. Every archaeology icon is in different set of colors, which sign the fields of study group. The main tree root is in the middle. The empty sockets are colored in group colors too. Drag the archaeology picture and drop it over the appropriate color on the root. The pictures will remain active, until arranged correctly. There is a small counter to the bottom right. It is used only for evaluation in fun classes and will not affect the knowledge level achievement.

1. Archaeology - is the study of human activity through the recovery and analysis of material culture. is the study of the past by looking for the remains and artifacts (historical things) left by the people who lived long ago.

2. Settlements(A) - Excavating remaining of lost cities, castles and structures.

3. Tombs(A) - Excavating tombs and caves.

4. Treasures - Excavating items with cultural end jewelry value - coins, artifacts, antiquary.

5. Artifacts(A) - an object formed by humans, particularly one of interest to archaeologists.

6. Cuneiform Script - deciphering one of the earliest systems of writing.

7. Antiques(A) - is an old collectable item. It is collected or desirable because of its age, beauty, rarity, or other unique features. It is an object that represents a previous era or time period in human society.

8. Stratigraphy(R)(Ge) - is a branch of geology which studies rock layers and layering (stratification).

9. (A)Anthropology - is the study of various aspects of humans within societies of the past and present.

10. (P) Paleontology - the scientific study of life that existed prior to the start of the Holocene Epoch.

11. (F) Fossils - are the preserved remains or traces of animals, plants, and other organisms from the remote past.

12. Archaeozoology - the study of animal remains in human settlements.

13. Gemstones (Ge)(A) - The study of creation of gemstones.

14. Archaeoastronomy - the study of the relationship between the configuration of ancient monuments and astronomy.

15. Anthracology - the study of charcoal remains (F)

16. Osteology - the scientific study of bones.

17. Battlefield archaeology - the study of conflict sites from an archeological perspective.

18. Maritime archaeology - the study of submerged archaeological sites, including shipwrecks as well as settlements that have been engulfed by bodies of water.
